What is DIGIPIN?
DIGIPIN (Digital PIN) is a grid-based geospatial location code system developed by the Department of Telecommunications and India Post to replace traditional postal PIN codes with accurate, digital geographic references.
The system divides the Indian subcontinent into hierarchical grid tiles using a 4x4 matrix at each level. Each tile is assigned a unique alphanumeric code. At deeper zoom levels, locations can be pinpointed to within 10 meters accuracy or better.
This tool is a fully interactive visualizer for exploring and converting DIGIPIN codes into GPS coordinates (latitude/longitude) and vice versa. It also allows you to click on any tile and get its data instantly.
